Not all of us are people who just feel like exercising and working out, and frankly, most of us would prefer the comfort of our bed and couch as opposed to going out and sweating. However, we all understand that working out and getting exercise is still important, so if you have fitness goals that you want to meet, then you should look into your options in the fitness trackers with smartphone notifications so that you have a constant reminder that you need to work out, because some of us just need that little extra push.
The Fitbit Charge 3 is the smart and effective partner that you need on your wrists to make sure that you’re reminded to stay active and healthy. You can keep an eye on your heart rate throughout the day, the number of calories you’ve burned and the distance you’ve covered during the course of the day. It has a large and vivid display that shows you all your vital information, along with your calls and text messages from your phone.
It’s waterproof, which is a feature that we expect to see in all fitness trackers – you want to be able to go about your day without having to worry about ruining your Fitbit. The app is very intuitive and easy to use and the connectivity is superb. We’re hard-pressed to point out something about the Fitbit charge 3 that we didn’t like.
- Display size
- Keeps you motivated
- Comfortable throughout the day
- Aftersales service is poor
Contenders For The Top Fitness Trackers With Notifications in 2020
Right off the bat, what we really like about the Garmin Vivosmart 4 is the fact that it offers high-end novelty and features in a very affordable package. Garmin Vivosmart 4 boasts a sleek, aesthetically pleasing design and the sensors used are pretty high end and really accurate, making it a reliable fitness tracker. You can track your sleep with it, as well as your levels of energy and stress throughout the day.
At this point, the Garmin Vivosmart 4 sounds like a no brainer to buy, but there’s a catch. The display is where Garmin made some compromises; the screen is relatively small and the information is rather cluttered up. On top of that, the screen is also sometimes unresponsive, which can be frustrating. It’s definitely good for tracking certain aspects of your health but not as accurate while tracking running.
- Stylish Design
- Advanced health tracking sensors
- Small screen with poor response
- Run Tracking is inaccurate
The core function of any fitness tracker is to basically count your steps and record your progress in an app on your phone. These days, fitness trackers can do that and then some, but in some cases, they go overboard with the complementary features and compromise on this main function. This can be a good thing or bad, depending on what you’re looking for. That said, the Huawei Band 3 Pro has all the goodies you could ask for at such a low price – there’s a gorgeous AMOLED display, an accurate heart rate monitor and connects well with the Fitbit app (we aren’t very fond of Huawei Health app just yet). It’s a great and gorgeous device to have on your wrist for heart monitoring and checking information from your phone on its screen but the built-in GPS tracking is way off the mark. You’d be happy with it if you’re not looking to track your running with it.
- AMOLED Screen
- Great Value for money
- Smart design
- Inaccurate GPS tracking
- Lack of physical buttons
Most of the time, when someone says that they’re looking to buy XYZ on a budget, they’re really trying to get as close to premium features as they can within their financial constraints. The Fitbit Inspire HR isn’t the cheapest tracker you can buy on a budget but if you’re looking for something that actually works well and can accurately track your health information, then you should consider this a solid choice.
The Fitbit Inspire HR boasts a very minimal and premium design that’s guaranteed to be noticed when you wear it. It makes a great accessory to add to your wardrobe in general. Aesthetic appeal aside, the Fitbit Inspire can really go a long time on just a single charge and while it’s at it, you can expect it to track your heart rate, activity and sleep very accurately. If there’s one thing that we wish that Fitbit did better with the inspire HR fitness tracker, then it’s that we would have liked if the screen had a smoother response. It’s not thoroughly unresponsive, but it has a tendency to lag sometimes which is a bummer.
- Premium minimalist design
- Impressive Battery Life
- Value for Money
- Large bezel around the screen
- Screen prone to unresponsiveness
Garmin has a way of packing premium features into a very small package that’s reasonably priced, not half bad looking and very comfortable to wear. However, they’re also a bit consistent in making the package too small in terms of screen size as well, which is something we hope they change in their Vivosport lineup of fitness trackers. The Vivosport is loaded with some features that you’d usually expect from a smartwatch but at the same time, this fitness tracking band is ready for action.
It’s fully waterproof so you can take it with you wherever you like during your day and never have to worry about it getting ruined because some water got splashed on it. The built-in GPS is pretty accurate in tracking your running and movement but it can sometimes take time to lock on to your location, which could have been better. We’re pleased with the Vivosport’s heart rate monitoring; the sensors are advance and can give you accurate heart data around the clock. Overall, it’s a great fitness tracker that could have maybe used a slightly larger screen. But if that doesn’t bother you, then you’ll be really pleased with it.
- Fully waterproof
- Comfortable and lightweight
- Loaded with advanced features
- Good battery life
- GPS can be a little slow to start working
- Accessing all the features takes some getting used to
Why It is Easy to Be Lazy
A lot of us sometimes end up wondering why it is just so much easier to laze around the entire day and do nothing, and there are a number of reasons for this. Some people are generally less active than other people from the start. There is also the fact that we are so used to being idle that the idea of moving and working out sounds exhausting, plus there is also other factors like our environment, how stress and fatigued we are, and so on. However, regardless of whatever the reason might be, there are still people who fight that lazy feeling and still get up and get exercise in. You can tell yourself that you will start tomorrow when you are mentally prepared and ready, but that is not the case. You need to remind yourself that you will never be fully ready for anything, so it is more of a matter of just doing it than anything else.
Why Physical Exercise is Important
We have a really faulty misconception about how skinny or normal weight automatically means healthy even though that is never the case. Everyone, regardless of how much they actually weigh needs a certain amount and level of physical exercise in order to be considered healthy. Physical movement is not just important for the sake of losing weight, it is also necessary to regulate our health. Regular exercise is what keeps our body strong and our immune system active, and this is what ensures that we are safe from a number of dangerous health conditions like cardiovascular issues, diabetes, and hypertension and so on. So, you have to be physically active for your overall health and wellbeing as one.
Technology And Fitness
Technology and innovation have now entered every aspect of our lives, be it the way we socialize, the way we work, the way we play games and destress and so on. Technology has now entered into another realm of our life, and that is fitness. This does not have anything to do with gym equipment, rather it assists us in the form of health and fitness apps, fitness trackers and so on.
Fitness trackers are actually really popular amongst people of all ages since they are able to monitor and keep track of their entire lifestyle through this device that we casually wear on our wrists. Now, there are a number of models when it comes to fitness trackers and each model offers its own set of unique features which may or may not include:
- A pedometer to track the number of steps you take
- An activity monitor that will let you know how many minutes were continuously spent doing some physical activity
- The number of calories you have burnt throughout the entire day
- The number of calories you have consumed each meal and how many you have left for the rest of the day
- Sleep tracking
- Letting you know how to track your general progress has been and whether or not your current lifestyle is meeting your fitness goals and your target weight and so on.
So, there is quite a lot that fitness trackers can do for us, and you do not have to be a certain age to use it. In fact, anyone that is concerned about their health and lifestyle and wants to keep track of it, then a fitness tracker will be a great investment for them.
How Notifications Can Help Us
Notifications can actually benefit a lot of people who are having trouble sticking to a proper fitness schedule. Your fitness tracker can send you notifications in one of two ways, fitness trackers can either send you notifications on the fitness tracker causing you to check the fitness tracking device or in cases where you have synced your fitness tracking device to your phone, it will end up sending smartphone notifications. This can benefit people who:
- Are very lazy and need constant motivation, reminders, and need the extra push in order to get up and actually work out and get some physical activity in.
- Are busy with their jobs and other priorities so much that they forget that they have to work out. This reminder notification allows them to come back to the moment, wrap things up, grab their gear, and then work out.
- Are the kind that generally needs to be reminded that they are not meeting their fitness goals. These are people that need to be brought into a state of alarm or panic in order to get them to move.
- Like little reminders and like keeping track of things.
Having a fitness tracking device that is able to give you notifications can benefit a lot of people for different reasons, so it can serve as a push for some people, and for some people, it can become a source of motivation or just a little reminder to take care of themselves. At the end of the day, it is important that we all remember that we have just one body with us, and we want to make sure that we take care of that body properly if we want to spend our later years being healthy instead of being sick and having to deal with an aching body that will not cooperate unless you take it to a doctor.
